But there's one thing to remember in the Meldrew household - whatever can go wrong always does and it usually spells disaster for Victor...

Victor's gobbling the whisky and Smarties and fending off the bendy dinosaur salesman who's in the neighbourhood. Whatever next? A benefit concert and a chance for Victor to re-air his old ventriloquist act.

It's time for a weekend visit to see Vince and April in their boarding house on the South Coast. Victor's relishing every minute... it's ages since he's had a dose of April's honey soaked Weetabix...

Victor just can't sleep. What with car alarms, chirping sparrows, dead hedgehogs and his reoccurring leg cramp - the night is just fraught with difficulties. This is terrible - if he gets really bored he might even have to open Ronnie and Mildred's Christmas present from last year...
