The war between the Dracs and Humans had been raging for many years. But on the deserted planet of Fyrine IV, Davidge, a battle hardened Earthman and Jeriba Shigan, a proud Drac from the planet Dracon are fighting against their inbred hatred of one another to survive.

And when Jeriba dies giving birth to Zammis, a baby Drac, a new era begins. Years later, when a spaceship lands on the planet, Davidge is estactic, only to find to his horror that it is occupied by brutal men who keep Dracs as their slaves.

In trying to protect 'Zammis' Davidge is shot and presumed dead and Zammis is taken prisoner aboard the space cruiser...
