From 1971 to 1987 and over the course of twelve series and eight specials. THE TWO RONNIES was one of the nation's favourite television shows. During this goldenage of television comedy, the show was practically and institution, with Christmas and Easter only really being complete, with a TWO RONNIES special.

Perhaps because they were not well established as a double act before their television series, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett worked together in a way that was very diffeent from most double-acts: theirs was not a straight-man versus funny-man relationship, but rather they swapped personas from sketch to sketch, and acted within sketches with total versatility. There were, however, distinctive TWO RONNIES characters: shopkeepers, civil servants, workmen and strange middle-class party guests, as well as regularly occurring sketch formats (for example, the newsreader sketches which opened and closed each progeramme, Ronnie Corbett's armchair monologues, and the big musical numbers).

This special COMEDY GREATS compilation features favourite sketches chosen from sixteen years of this much-loved and much-missed programme including: The Vagabond Lover (before he died of drink, women and horses), Swedish MAde Simple, Mastermind (answering the question before last) and the St. Botolphs Country Dance Team.
