He's been in the New York for 20 minutes and already college kid Clark Kellogg (Matthew Broderick) has been conned out of his luggage and his money... With no cash and no college books, Clark finds his professor is less than sympathetic. So when small time swindler Victor Ray (Bruno Kirby) offers him a job, the fundless freshman can hardly say no... A small fish in the Big Apple, Clark is put on the payroll of prominent modern-day mobster Carmine Sabatini (Marlon Brando). In Sabatini's firm but friendly hands and the amorous clutches of his beautiful daughter Tina (Penelope Ann Miller), Clark is assigned a series of tasks that range from baby sitting a Komodo dragon to serving up endangered species at ultra-expensive restaurants! And soon the freshman film student turned gullible gangster finds the events of his life rivalling anything he's ever seen on the screen!
