Britain's best-loved TV serial started life on December 9, 1960. Granada Video now invites you to celebrate CORONATION STREET'S Silver Jubilee with Ena Sharples, Elsie Tanner, Annie Walker, and many other known and loved residents of the Street. Alice Hughes, born in CORONATION STREET in 1952, left for a new life in Australia. Now she returns for a fleeting visit with her daughter and joins Betty Turpin, Hilda Ogden, and Ken and Deirdre Barlow, in their reminiscences of The Jubilee Years.

The residents of the Street celebrate Christmas with a fancy dress party. Elsie masquerades as a flamenco dancer and Ken makes a dashing Lawrence of Arabia, but Annie Walker rules over them all as Elizabeth I. The festive season is tigned with sadness too, as Ena Sharples nurses her dying daughter.

Stan and Hilda Ogden get a taste of luxury when they win a second honeymoon-a limousine whisks them away for a night at the Savoy, where dinner, champagne and possibly, romance await.

Weddings bells ring out for Ken Barlow. First, as a young teacher, he marries Albert Tatlock's niece Valerie. Eleven years later, Janet Reid becomes the second Mrs. Barlow. Is it third time lucky for Ken when he marries Deirdre Langton...?

Tension mounts in the Barlow household at the height of Deirdre's affair with Mike Baldwin, and reaches a dramatic climax when she confesses all to Ken. Will deirdre choose the dynamic Bladwin or fight to save her marriage with the depandable Ken?
